Play Equity on the Playground

December 23, 2020As it begins to get chillier and the leaves fall, it is important to find ways incorporate nature play into your child’s routine. It can be easy to skip play when the days get colder, but children need to get hands-on and even downright dirty outside. You can take it a step further by incorporating nature into at-home crafting.
We encourage you to get outside with your children and explore nature even if it is just in your backyard. Let your kids pick out leaves, stones, sticks and more to create their own crafts. These types of activities can positively impact physical play when children get outside and explore, and the crafts will help build on cognitive development.
Check out the Teaching Mama for a list of fun leaf activities and Arty and Crafty Kids for crafts that incorporate nature.
